Privacy Policy
Your privacy matters to me. I want you to understand what happens to the information you share.
Who I am
I’m Fiorella Alzamora, a contemporary psychodynamic counsellor and BACP Registered Member (MBACP). I’m responsible for the personal information you share with my practice. You can contact me at hello@fiorellaalzamora.co.uk.
When you get in touch
If you use my contact form, email or call me, I may receive your name, contact details and anything you choose to share. I use these details to reply, answer your questions and arrange an introductory conversation if you wish.
You do not need to share sensitive or detailed personal information in your first message. A few words are enough.
Why I use your information
For ordinary enquiries, I use contact information because it is in my legitimate interests to respond to people who contact me. When you ask to arrange counselling, I may also need information to take steps towards providing a counselling service. If we begin working together, I will explain the additional information I need, the reasons for using it and how counselling records are handled.
Information about health or other sensitive matters needs extra protection under data protection law. I will explain the relevant safeguards and legal conditions before collecting this as part of counselling.
Confidentiality
I treat what you share with care and respect. Confidentiality is an important part of counselling, although there are limited circumstances when information may need to be shared, for example where the law requires it or there is a serious safeguarding concern. I will explain these limits before counselling begins.
Services that help this website work
The website uses Cloudflare to deliver and protect its pages and contact form, including a security check called Turnstile. Contact form messages are sent using an email delivery service called Resend and arrive in my professional email, provided through Google Workspace. These services may process technical information and message details to provide their services. Their processing and storage locations can differ.
I do not sell your personal information or use your enquiry to send marketing messages.
Counselling notes
I keep only brief, factual notes that help me remember what is relevant to our counselling work.
I aim to record as little as necessary, focusing on information that supports our sessions and my professional responsibilities.
I respect your privacy and avoid including unnecessary personal details.
I keep these notes securely and only for as long as needed, taking account of my professional and legal responsibilities.
How long I keep information
I keep enquiry information only while it is needed to respond and manage your enquiry, subject to any legal or professional reason to keep it longer. If we begin counselling, I will explain the separate arrangements for counselling records, including retention periods, before we start. You can email me to ask how long a particular record will be kept.
Keeping your information safe
I take reasonable steps to protect personal information and limit access to it. No website or email service can promise complete security, so please avoid sending highly sensitive details through the contact form.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law, you may have the right to see the information held about you, correct it, ask for it to be deleted, object to some uses or ask for processing to be restricted. Some rights depend on the circumstances. You can contact me if you would like to make a request.
If you are unhappy with how your information is handled, you can also contact the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO).
Questions
If something here is unclear, please ask. I’m happy to explain it in simple terms: hello@fiorellaalzamora.co.uk.
